The German player joined his new team-mates for his first training in 18 August 2010.

Mesut Ozil has had an busy day. He passed his medical in the morning, signed his contract past noon, gave his first press conference as a Real Madrid player at 14:00 and joined his new team-mates in the evening for his first training session as a Madridista. The players all gave him a warm welcome, especially Khedira, who received him with a hug.

Real Madrid Preparations for Almeria, News and Video

Preparations for Thursday's match against Almeria began on Monday morning.
Raul and Van der Vaart worked out in the gym along with Kaka and Pepe as eight Castilla members trained with the first team.

The squad split into two groups to participate in strength training drills that included the use of cones and slalom poles. Earlier, however, Royston Drenthe was seen jogging alongside his teammates as he continues to recovery from injury.

With Raul and Van der Vaart working out in the gym along with Kaka and Pepe, Manuel Pellegrini included eight Real Madrid Castilla members -Felipe Ramos, Opare, Velayos, Luis Hernandez, Vazquez, Sarabia, Ruben Ramos and Juanan, in his training session.
